On Sunday morning, in the Terra Linda neighborhood of San Rafael, reports of shots fired in the Safeway parking lot at 950 Las Gallinas Avenue led to the discovery of a wounded 30-year-old man from Novato, as well as bullet holes in a nearby residence. According to the San Rafael Police press release, four suspects remain at large for questioning in connection with the violent incident yesterday.

Witnesses stated that the groups gathered in the Safeway parking lot in the early hours of Sunday, and these groups soon became embroiled in an altercation. One suspect from the approaching group pulled out a firearm and fired multiple shots, leaving the Novato man seriously injured with two gunshot wounds. The San Rafael Fire Department promptly transported the victim to the hospital, where he is currently being treated for his injuries.

Upon investigation, it was revealed that a third bullet had entered the bedroom window of a nearby residence, fortunately, no one was injured in the home. After the shooting, the suspects fled the scene, last seen making their way Eastbound through the Northgate 1 parking lot. The hunt for the suspects began almost immediately, with a San Rafael Police Officer catching a glimpse of one of them on the Redwood Highway frontage road. However, the suspect managed to evade capture, disappearing into the creek area on the East side of Redwood Highway.

As the search continued, authorities requested the assistance of the Marin County Sheriff's Office and Novato Police Department Canine Unit. Despite their efforts, they were unable to locate the suspect, and the remaining three suspects have yet to be found. The authorities are working diligently to apprehend the perpetrators and ensure public safety, urging anyone with information to come forward.

Finding the four suspects remains a high priority for local authorities, with the hope of preventing further instances of violence in the San Rafael community.
