
An off-duty deputy found himself fighting for his life today, after being involved in a motorcycle accident in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the crash occurred in the early hours of Friday morning. The deputy, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, reportedly collided with a streetlight pole around 4:30 a.m. in the 1000 block of West Sunset Boulevard, between Silver Lake Blvd. and North Alvarado Street.
An investigation is currently underway as authorities attempt to better understand the incident. In the process, the eastbound lanes on Sunset Boulevard were temporarily closed. While the initial details remain scarce, it is clear that this event has far-reaching consequences; not only for the deputy involved but also for the community as a whole.
As reported by FOX LA, the deputy was rushed to an area hospital shortly after the crash took place. Fortunately, by 7:30 a.m., officials stated that his condition had stabilized. The Los Angeles Police Department has since taken charge of the investigation.
