Earlier today, a small single-engine plane crashed near the Compton/Woodley Airport, striking a parked car and causing a significant fuel spill. In a fortunate turn of events, the pilot of the Cessna plane emerged with only minor injuries, while no other individuals were seriously harmed.

After crashing onto a residential street, the aircraft left an estimated 29 gallons of fuel spilled onto the roadway. The specific circumstances which led to the crash remain under investigation, as authorities seek to piece together this startling incident. As the aircraft descended, it struck an unoccupied vehicle, causing visible damage to the plane's left wing.
Downey Fire Department's Doug Ulibarri informed that there had been only one person occupying the plane, and the pilot had hit an automobile on 159th Street near the airport. Astoundingly, the pilot, while sustaining minor injuries, declined medical treatment at the scene, as reported by a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
