As reported today, a powerful example of teamwork and coordination among law enforcement agencies was witnessed recently, as the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office and Hayward Police Department came together to apprehend Oliver Chavez Morfin, a 25-year-old Hayward resident connected to a series of offenses.

According to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office press release, the suspect had violated a restraining order, made criminal threats on social media, shared private photos without consent, and committed a felony while out on bail.

The authorities' arduous investigation began in response to a call on September 22, when deputies were dispatched to a home on Nottingham Avenue in Unincorporated Redwood City. After initially identifying the case as a restraining order violation, further investigation unveiled the other offenses tied to the incident, which brought to the fore the need for a joint team effort between the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office and the Hayward Police Department.

Although the initial search did not result in locating the suspect, law enforcement officers were determined not to waver in their pursuit of justice.

On September 25, the Hayward Police Department successfully found and detained Oliver Chavez Morfin before notifying the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies then assumed custody of the suspect and transported him for booking without incident at the Maguire Correctional Facility.
