This recent incident underscores the growing concern that untraceable "ghost guns" have become a significant public safety hazard, finding their way into criminal hands across the nation. Built from parts purchased online or assembled from kits, ghost guns lack the serial numbers required for legal purchase and background checks, making it nearly impossible to trace their origins or hold anyone accountable.
In recent years, authorities have seen a sharp increase in the use of these homemade weapons in high-profile incidents.
