Anthony Arthur Rodriguez, a 44-year-old San Bruno man, was recently sentenced to 12 years in prison for a series of high-stakes crimes, involving armed robbery, a confrontation with a police officer, and putting his young child's life in danger.

In December 2018, Rodriguez's crime spree began when he left his 7-year-old son in the car parked in the red zone outside a Macy's at Hillsdale Shopping Center, only to steal clothing and point a firearm at the store's staff and a bystander when confronted, according to a tweet from San Mateo County District Attorney's Office. The perpetrator was arrested following a pursuit.

Regrettably, this was not to be the end of his illicit escapades. In 2019, Rodriguez was to quickly peruse stealing from a JC Penney in San Bruno. In a dangerous move, during the traffic stop, he struck a police officer with his car door before making his escape, leading to a 6-mile car chase, per a tweet from KTVU's Henry K. Lee. The culmination of these events earned Rodriguez a 12-year prison sentence after he pleaded no contest to three felony charges.
