A terrifying event unfolded yesterday at the SeaBreeze Apartments complex in Lincoln Park, San Diego. A 29-year-old man found himself under fire while waiting for the entrance gate to open. According to ABC 10 News, the victim was sitting in his car when another vehicle pulled up behind him and multiple gunshots rang out. In a desperate move to avoid the hail of bullets, the man rammed the complex gate, which ultimately saved his life.
The victim, who has not been identified, sustained a superficial graze wound on the left side of his face. First responders arrived on the scene and transported him to a hospital in the area. As per the San Diego Union-Tribune, a motive for the shooting remains unknown, and no arrests have been made yet. Investigators continue to search for potential leads and are currently combing the apartment complex for any additional evidence.
Witnesses told the police that there were two or three men wearing red hoodies and black face masks in the suspect vehicle, which was described as a white sedan. The incident has understandably shaken the residents of the apartment complex and those living in the surrounding community. Many are seeking answers and action from their local police regarding the effort to bring the perpetrators to justice.
The San Diego Police Department urges anyone with information related to this shooting to come forward and assist the investigation.
