On September 27, 2023, around 4pm, a radio call of an assault with a deadly weapon shots fired in the area of 73rd Street and Towne Avenue was broadcasted.
According to Fox LA, the Los Angeles Police Department's 77th Street Division responded to a radio call reporting an assault with a deadly weapon and subsequent shots fired in the area of 73rd Street and Towne Avenue. Upon arriving at the scene, officers from the Gang Enforcement Detail located the suspect near 76th Street and Avalon Boulevard. As the officers attempted to apprehend the suspect, an officer-involved shooting occurred, resulting in the suspect being struck by gunfire.
