Today, tragedy struck once again in the form of a fatal collision between a vehicle and an adult male pedestrian. According to the San Jose Police Media Relations, the unnamed victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The traffic in the area surrounding Willow Street and Meridian Avenue was significantly affected as the authorities conducted their investigation.
Units are currently on scene at Willow Street and Meridian Avenue for a fatal collision involving a vehicle and adult male pedestrian.

This fatal traffic collision is not an isolated incident, as it is the 37th such event to happen in the area this year alone, of which 22 are pedestrians.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), in 2022 there were over 6000 pedestrian fatalities nationwide. These numbers only further indicate the necessity of more comprehensive, practical solutions and preventative initiatives that address the root causes of this ongoing issue.
