
A man and a woman lost their lives in a tragic accident Yesterday when a vehicle struck them while crossing a street in Sylmar. The woman was being pushed in a wheelchair by the man when the incident occurred.
At around 7:40 p.m., the two individuals were attempting to navigate their way across Astoria Street and Foothill Boulevard when they were struck by an oncoming vehicle, according to KTLA. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, while the woman was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Initial reports suggested that the accident might have been a hit-and-run; however, further investigations revealed that the driver remained at the scene, as per CBS Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Police Department has not made any arrests, and the circumstances surrounding the accident are still under investigation.
Authorities highlighted that the two victims were not using a crosswalk at the time of the incident, which raises concerns about pedestrian safety in the area.
