At approximately 10:49 AM, officers from the Vallejo Police Department responded to a distress call of a shooting incident on the 200 block of Mini Drive. Tragically, one of the victims, identified as Zoltan Kent Jr., succumbed to his injuries while the other is expected to recover, according to the Vallejo Police Department.

For now, some semblance of justice has been delivered, as the suspects, Gerald Collins, 23, and Armando Menendez, 19, were recently apprehended following extensive investigative efforts by the Vallejo Police Department Detective Division.

The Solano County District Attorney's Office reviewed the case and issued arrest warrants for Collins and Menendez. On August 20, 2023, the U.S. Marshals Service collaborating with the Vacaville Police Department S.W.A.T. team apprehended Gerald Collins in Vacaville, California, as reported by the Vallejo Police Department. Later, on September 6, 2023, at around 11:11 AM, the U.S. Marshals Service, in conjunction with the Vallejo Police Department, executed an operation that resulted in the arrest of Armando Menendez, who was taken into custody without incident in the 1000 block of Grant Street.
