On the last week of August, an astute security guard's memory proved instrumental in apprehending a male felon in possession of firearms, drugs, and burglary tools in the parking lot on the 100 block of Springtowne Center. According to a report posted on Facebook, the security guard recalled seeing the male burglarizing vehicles in the same parking lot earlier and reported his return to the Vallejo Police Department (VPD).

The officers, responding to the security guard's report, arrived at the location and found the male, along with two females, seated inside an SUV backed into a parking stall. Noticing the male's felony probation for burglary status, the officers conducted a probation search, leading to the discovery of methamphetamine in his possession. Things took a turn when one of the females admitted that the male suspect had put a firearm in her purse upon noticing the police presence, adding another layer of illegality to the situation.

Upon further inspection of the female's purse, officers found an unregistered loaded firearm equipped with an extended magazine along with a pick-locking kit, which constituted burglary tools for someone on probation for burglary. The male suspect was then arrested, and his possessions were entered into evidence.
