In an effort to bolster economic development and encourage both community participation and cultural growth, the City of Vallejo has unveiled the Special Event Sponsorship Grant Program (SESGP). According to a recent announcement of the City of Vallejo, this initiative offers financial support to eligible event organizers, helping to partially offset the costs incurred by city services such as the Police Department, Fire Department, and Public Works Division during the hosting of events, ranging from festivals and parades to community celebrations.

The SESGP is centered around fostering high-impact events capable of strengthening community bonds and enhancing the local economy. To be considered for sponsorship, event organizers must meet all the eligibility criteria and apply to the program. The application period for the 2023-24 Fiscal Year closed today. Meanwhile, the application window for the 2024-25 fiscal year will be open from October 26 until December 20.

Vallejo is making strides in fostering a diverse and thriving community through events and community programs, such as the highly anticipated Mare Island Art Studios. Scheduled to open in 2024, the new space will provide affordable studios, workshops, and resources for artists, contributing to the city's cultural fabric.

For those interested in applying for the SESGP or requiring more information, it is advised to reach out to Community & Volunteer Coordinator Shelee Loughmiller through the provided email address, [email protected], or by calling 707-648-8616 in order to schedule an appointment.
