Earlier this evening in the city of Riverside, California, a massage parlor in the 10400 block of Magnolia Avenue became the scene of a brazen robbery attempt, a struggle in the face of danger, and the fruition of an act of defiance. According to the Riverside Police Department, at approximately 9:45 p.m., two would-be robbers stormed into the E-Joy Foot And Body Massage parlor, intent on forcing the employees and customers into submission and robbing them of their possessions. What the assailants did not foresee was the determination of a patron to actively fight back reports KTLA.
The armed patron hastily opened fire, striking one of the thieves. The robbers, realizing their plan was foiled, scrambled to flee from the scene. The injured suspect, however, did not get far; he was soon discovered in a nearby Northgate Market, suffering from the gunshot wound inflicted by the customer. The injured perpetrator was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Meanwhile, his accomplice remains at large, on the run from the authorities who are conducting an ongoing investigation into the incident, according to FOX LA.
Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries sustained by either employees or customers at the massage parlor. The employee's gun was legally registered, and the district attorney will be investigating the events surrounding the shooting according to ABC7.
