On Saturday, September 23, three individuals were caught in a hail of gunfire, ultimately resulting in one casualty and two injured victims, according to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD).
The victims, who were peacefully socializing outside of a residence on the 1000 block of Sanford Avenue when their lives were abruptly shattered by the violence. A suspect still on the loose, and the motive for the attack remaining a mystery.
A male suspect approached the group at night and, without hesitation, opened fire on them, leaving one man, a 53-year-old father, dead in the aftermath. The other two individuals sustained serious gunshot wounds but managed to cling on to life, as reported by the LAPD.
Witnesses to the shooting, which occurred around 11:30 p.m., could only provide a vague description of the assailant – a male Hispanic who fled from the scene of the crime on foot. Despite the limited information, the Los Angeles Police Department's South Bureau Homicide detectives are working to identify and apprehend the suspect as they seek the public's assistance in solving this tragic case.
