In just a matter of weeks, Redwood City Police Department finds itself grappling with another disconcerting case of child annoyance. On September 8th, 2023, Redwood City resident Eric Perry, aged 56, was arrested for grabbing a 16-year-old female around the waist and making inappropriate comments to her at the bus station at 1 James Avenue, according to the police report.
First responders discovered that this was not Perry's first brush with crime, as he was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia, and had an existing warrant related to a different crime. He has since been booked into the San Mateo County Jail.
It is worth noting that Redwood City had witnessed a similar incident. On August 18th, 2023, a white male in his 50s, with a distinctive missing eye, took part in an unrelated episode of child annoyance at the same address (1 James Avenue). This suspect, who still remains at large, maintains public anxiety in the community.
Redwood City Police Department urges those with any information about either incident to come forward, by contacting them at 650-780-7100. Anonymous tips can be submitted through the Redwood City Tip Line at 650-780-7110.
