Yesterday, a twenty-one-year-old male resident of Camp Pendleton found himself caught in a single-vehicle accident on Oceanside Boulevard, just West of Vine Street. Despite the best efforts of emergency personnel, the young man was pronounced deceased at the scene, his name withheld pending the notification of next of kin, according to Oceanside Police.
Witnesses and first responders were left wondering how this catastrophe unfolded. Early in the investigation, it was determined that the driver had been traveling westbound on Oceanside Boulevard in a Ford F-150. As he passed Vine Street, he lost control of the vehicle, leading to a harrowing rollover with the truck ultimately coming to a rest, upside down.
The Oceanside Police Department's Major Accident Investigation Team is probing the incident in hopes of unraveling the mystery surrounding the collision.
