
The Milpitas Police Department received an emergency call reporting a young woman who intentionally took an excessive amount of prescription medication and threatened to harm herself with a knife yesterday.
Upon their arrival, they found the young woman experiencing a mental health crisis inside her apartment, armed with a large kitchen knife and intent on using it against herself. According to the Milpitas Police Department FB post, a Crisis Intervention Trained (CIT) officer managed to talk her down and convince her to drop the weapon, after which she was sent to a local hospital for treatment.
