Eastern Standard, the beloved American brasserie based in Boston, is set to reopen at the Fenway Center Life Sciences Complex and is expected to resume operations between now and October 12. The news was first reported by Boston Restaurant Updates.
Opened in 2005, Eastern Standard featured seasonal New England dishes based on classic brasserie fare before shutting down in 2021 due to unexpected issues with its location in the Hotel Commonwealth. The restaurant plans to bring back popular menu items including the Frisée aux Lardons, Steak Tartare, Baked Rigatoni, and Butterscotch Bread Pudding as detailed on the OpenTable page.
Eastern Standard owner, Garrett Harker, is also known for operating another eatery called All That Fish + Oyster. He is currently in the process of opening two additional establishments at the Fenway Center. Eastern Standard's offerings are a testament to Harker's culinary knack, while Culinary Director Nemo Bolin works to perfect the restaurant's flavors. Eastern Standard will preserve its timeless appeal and introduce new dishes to the menu that are likely to become instant classics.
The restaurant looks forward to welcoming patrons with an expansive range of beverages along with their food offerings. Featuring a mix of classic and inventive cocktails, the beverage menu has been curated by cocktail expert, Jackson Cannon. It offers a diverse selection of wines and craft beers sourced from various locations.
The new location at 775 Beacon Street, Boston, MA, is just a three-block walk from its original site in Kenmore Square. Seating for October 12 is already being booked, indicating the locals' readiness to welcome back this favorite establishment.
