Elvis Presley fans in Boston recently had the chance to experience a two-day pop-up event, "Love Me (Bar) Tender," which recreated the aura of Elvis' renowned "Jungle Room." This immersive event was hosted in downtown Boston at The Point, as reported by Boston 25 News.
As per WCVB, guests were welcomed into the meticulously recreated Graceland room to immerse themselves in the surroundings that made Elvis a rock 'n' roll sensation. A tiki bar replica outfitted with Memphis-styled cocktails like "Burning Love" and "Beale Street Blues" added to the overall nostalgic experience.
In an iHeartRadio article, Kevin Kern, a representative from Memphis Tourism and the event's organizer, shared specifics about the furnishings and features designed to give the pop-up bar an authentic feel. The collective design used Graceland-sourced green shag carpet and tiki-style furniture to make up the authentic experience.
Contrary to the actual "Jungle Room" in Graceland where visitors are prohibited to sit on the furniture, guests at the "Love Me (Bar) Tender" pop-up event had the liberty to use the recreated '70s furnishings. According to a WCVB story, Kern also shared insights into Elvis's daily life, highlighting his favorite spots inside the Jungle Room.
Throughout this event, organizers endeavored to promote Memphis as a destination to enhance their knowledge of Elvis Presley's life and legacy. Available slots in the pop-up, limited in space, were sold for 90-minute sessions as per Boston 25 News.
