
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD) discovered the body of a missing octogenarian, Minas Khacheryan, under a Lancaster bridge recently. He was reported missing along with his 78-year-old brother, Grigor, from their Glendale home on Sunday, September 29. LASD's ongoing efforts aim at locating Grigor as per press release.
The disappearance to triggered the response of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Missing Persons Unit, as and they sought the public's help in finding the missing brothers, branding them as "at-risk" due to their health concerns. Minas had a heart condition and was missing his left eye, while Grigor was in recovery from a recent open-heart surgery. Increasing concerns for their well-being have been expressed by their family, according to a previous Hoodline Los Angeles report.
LASD Homicide investigators and the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office located Minas's body under a bridge near 195th St. West and West Avenue G. His death brings a tragic turn to the case, though the cause of death awaits determination by the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office. No signs of foul play have been detected as per LASD.
Earlier today, the search operation to locate Grigor Khacheryan was renewed with the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Emergency Services Detail leading a joint effort. More than two dozen divers assist, using sonar to aid them in the search and carefully controlling aqueduct water flow. Grigor remains as a top priority for the authorities, according to LASD.
