
In the City of Cudahy, Los Angeles County, a recent shooting has left one man dead. The fatal incident occurred yesterday, around 9:04 p.m. The victim, a man somewhere aroudn 35 to 45 years old, succumbed to a gunshot wound to his upper torso, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD).
Deputies from the East Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station discovered the victim on the 4300 block of Elizabeth Street. NBC Los Angeles reports a second individual was injured but reportedly uninvolved in the altercation. This person sustained minor injuries.
Local resident, Jose Velasquez, expressed to NBC Los Angeles, "It hits home because it nearly happened to my house". Particularly concerning is the crime's proximity to nearby homes and a local elementary school.
Lieutenant Michael Gomez is leading the ongoing investigation by the Homicide Bureau, with additional information unspecified at the time of reporting. The incident's catalyst and potential gang involvement remains uncertain.
