
Yesterday, an assault occurred at a San Mateo, California bus stop, leading to a response by local community members and law enforcement. The San Mateo Police Department reported the arrest of five suspects—Jose Perez Gomez, Andy Perez Juarez, Joel Recinoz Perez, Moises Vasquez Alvarado, and a juvenile male—in relation to the assault.
The victim was at a bus stop outside the Wells Fargo Bank on West Hillsdale Boulevard when he was surrounded and assaulted by a group of males. The assault included punches and an attempt to stab the victim with a knife. Luckily, only the victim's shoulder was grazed, and he was able to escape and alert the police.
The police detained the suspects promptly upon arrival. Gomez, Juarez, Perez, and Alvarado were arrested and confined in San Mateo County Jail, while the juvenile was placed in Hillcrest Juvenile Hall. All the suspects were charged with assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy to commit a crime.
