Located within the bustling community establishment of Boston Public Market, Hearth & Hug Bakery is now open for business as Eater Boston reports. Founder Natalie Hug invites visitors to indulge in a delightful array of traditional and contemporary pastries, breads, cakes, and pies.
Natalie Hug, a transplant from California Bay Area, nourished her passion for baking that led her to pursue a formal education at Newbury College. She has honed her skills at reputable establishments such as Flour Bakery and Cafe, Modern Pastry, and Union Square Donuts according to the bakery's website. With Hearth & Hug, Hug brings her expertise and passion to the community of Boston Public Market.
Notable among the bakery's offerings are breakfast staples such as croissants, muffins, and a variety of sweet and savory scones, to quickly start one's morning. In a unique approach, Hug crafts her croissants using a sourdough starter and a hint of wheat flour, providing a unique taste to the customers. Hearth & Hug also caters to bread lovers with fresh white and whole-wheat loaves, focaccia, and sourdough boules.
In addition to the bakery's staple pastries and breads, Hearth & Hug also satisfies the sweet tooth with its diverse array of confections. From classic favorites like Rice Krispie Treats and tea cakes to distinctive taste experiences like white miso-coconut cookies. Furthermore, visitors can embark on a culinary adventure with offerings of golfeados (Venezuelan sticky buns) and cacio e pepe cheese straws.
Gearing up for Boston Public Market's Harvest Party on October 12th, Hearth & Hug Bakery finds its place alongside a host of other vendors and artisans in this forthcoming celebration of local food, drinks, and live entertainment. With ticket prices starting at $50, the event benefits public community education and sustains over 40,000 acres of New England farmland according to Eater Boston.
