This Thursday, October 26, an observant Lafayette policeman found methamphetamine and cocaine in a parked car. The vehicle, to which an unreturned rental trailer was attached, was owned by a registered sex offender. The owner faces felony charges accordin to Lafayette Police Department Facebook post.
The Lafayette Police Department praised the vigilance of their officer. Noticing irregularities such as a removed steering column, ignition, and airbag, the officer decided to investigate the vehicle's occupant. Due to his status as a registered sex offender, the owner's possession charges have escalated to potential felonies, as stated in the Lafayette Police Department post.
