On October 22, an officer from the Hercules Police Department made an unexpected find during a traffic enforcement stop of a white 2002 Chevy Suburban. During the stop on westbound I-80 near Willow Avenue, the officer found three jars of marijuana, an FN-brand .40 caliber pistol equipped with a 14-round magazine, and $1,485 in cash on the driver, per the Hercules Police Department.
The officer had initially stopped the vehicle because of traffic violations. Upon stopping the car, the officer smelled marijuana and observed drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle led to a search. Both occupants of the car were arrested, and the vehicle was towed away.
