As reported by MassLive, the girl allegedly caused a collision while driving a stolen vehicle, a 2011 Hyundai Elantra, under the influence of drugs. After fleeing the scene, she eventually crashed into a tree on Matty Lane in Dartmouth.
Details regarding the girl's identity remain undisclosed due to her minor status. She initially collided with a 2016 Toyota Avalon on State Road, after which she attempted to escape. However, a concerned driver followed her, resulting in the second crash on Matty Lane. The vehicle she drove had been reported stolen from Fall River on October 7, according WCVB.
Law enforcement officials found the minor with a facial injury on site and transported her to St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford for treatment. As cited by Boston 25 News, she was later released to her mother's custody. The individual now faces multiple charges, including receiving a stolen motor vehicle, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, operating under the influence of drugs, and leaving the scene of an accident.
