
On Saturday, an apartment complex at 4300 W. Pt. Loma Blvd. was heavily damaged by a fire in which one dog was lost to the flame, with another suffering injuries. Human inhabitants were not harmfully affected.
As the Times of San Diego reports, 34 personnel, including two trucks, four engines, and one medic, were dispatched at 10:38 a.m. They managed to quickly extinguish the fire, post which the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department started overhauling the building.
Rescue crews successfully revived one of the two dogs found in the scorched apartment, swiftly rushing it for veterinary care. Unfortunately, the second dog did not survive, revealed by the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department through Twitter.

The origin and cause of the fire have yet to be established. The prompt response of local emergency services likely mitigated further losses and damages. The unit in which the fire sparked is now considered inhabitable, forcing residents to find alternate accommodations.
