On September 20, the Redwood City Police Department released a report that an elderly man was stabbed near the Redwood City Main Library. Brian Grijalva was quickly identified as a suspect. To ensure swift justice, RCPD officers arrested Grijalva at Courthouse Square on October 6. He was then booked into the San Mateo County Jail on felony assault charges using a lethal weapon, according to the Redwood City Police Department.
Subsequent investigations by RCPD detectives linked Grijalva to another crime. The media release indicated he was also charged with felony robbery in connection with a separate strong-arm robbery of a juvenile. This had occurred on September 30 close to downtown's Century Theatres.
The Redwood City Police Department maintains its dedication to protecting the downtown areas, however, it is essential to acknowledge Grijalva's actions' implications. Both victims—a senior and a child—have brought attention to the issues facing the community.
