Yesterday, a robbery took place at a Whole Foods in Redwood City. As reported by the Redwood City Police Department, the 32-year-old suspect, Juan Linares Cesena, implied he had a firearm and escaped with an undisclosed amount of money. However, an aware customer and a relative of Cesena played pivotal roles in his apprehension.
Cesena's escape to Vera Avenue was closely shadowed by the alert customer, who kept his distance before notifying the police. Simultaneously, a family member of Cesena contacted 9-1-1, informing them that Cesena arrived home with a considerable amount of cash.
Prompt intelligence and action from these citizens led a team of officers and detectives to surround the Vera Avenue residence, initiating a stand-off that ended peacefully. Cesena was subsequently arrested and jailed on charges of robbery and an outstanding arrest warrant.
