On October 26, Santa Clarita will host its annual State of the City event. This gathering features updates on community programs, services, and new infrastructure projects. Mayor Jason Gibbs stated that this year's spectacle will occur at the Canyon Country Community Center. The Mayor offers details of the event, including wide-ranging discussions on the city's direction for the upcoming year.

Among many other annual offerings, Santa Clarita hosts the Cowboy Festival and the Concerts in the Park series. Preserving the city's rich cowboy heritage, the Festival provides authentic experiences like music and poetry readings. The Concerts in the Park, taking place at Central Park in July, features live music for the enjoyment of residents.

In September, Santa Clarita organized the River Rally and Environmental Expo, focusing on environmental preservation. Participants clear trash from the Santa Clara Riverbed, while engaging with the community. The holiday season is further celebrated with the Light Up Main Street event. This event includes snow, live music, and arts and crafts, all culminating in the lighting of the Christmas tree in front of the Santa Clarita Public Library Old Town Newhall Branch.

The State of the City event will also showcase new projects and amenities, such as the Vista Canyon Multi-Modal Center and the Central Park Buildout Project. The City of Santa Clarita reveals that the Multi-Modal Center commences transportation services by October 23, aiming to enhance residents' commuting. The Central Park Buildout Project, on schedule for completion by mid-October, will introduce improved amenities like multipurpose fields, additional parking, a new restroom facility, and enhancements to the dog park.

The State of the City event will also be touching on upcoming plans. These include the Valencia Community Center, the roller rink, and other City park improvements.

Although in-person attendance at the State of the City event will be limited, those interested can watch it broadcasted live on the City's Facebook page and on SCVTV channel 20. To get more information or purchase tickets to the 2023 State of the City, visit the City's website at SantaClarita.gov
