A fisherman found himself stranded by the tide near Mori Point in San Mateo County, as the light faded on an October evening. With prompt coordination and collaboration, multiple rescue teams acted swiftly to ensure his safety.

The California Highway Patrol's helicopter team, H-30, was dispatched yesterday, in response to a report of an individual in distress near Mori Point. Assisting the H-30, Pacifica Fire, AMR San Mateo County, and a San Francisco Fire Helicopter Rescue Technician (HRT) also mobilized to support the complex hoist rescue. Their collaborative efforts were confirmed by CHP Golden Gate AirOps.

The H-30 helicopter quickly identified the exact location of the stranded fisherman. In a daring move, they lowered an SFFD HRT member, who then secured the fisherman in a rescue harness. Both were hoisted about 90 feet from the water's edge to safety, where Pacifica firefighters were on standby.
