On June 29, a purse-snatching incident took place at the 5000 block of Makati Circle in San Jose, injuring an adult female.
A witness's confrontation led a male suspect to reveal a firearm, who escaped before police arrival. However, probes by the SJPD's Robbery Unit identified and later arrested Eddie Robinson, 39, and Christy Rivera, 47. The pair were implicated in both this incident and a string of robberies in San Jose.
Robinson's arrest on unrelated charges happened on October 3, and he was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail, on the other hand, Rivera was apprehended by the SJPD's Covert Response Unit (CRU) on October 18, without incident per the San Jose Police Department.
A search warrant issued on Rivera's property led to the discovery of multiple weapons and ammunition. Rivera was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on charges of robbery and conspiracy, while Robinson should expect additional charges during his incarceration.
According to the SJPD's press release, the efforts of its officers and detectives, coupled with significant community involvement were pivotal in solving this case.
