
On October 16, a female was the target of unsolicited physical contact near Oxford Street and Center Street in Berkeley, California. According to the Berkeley Police Department, the unsuspecting woman was approached and assaulted by a man.
The suspect allegedly accosted the victim from behind, lifting her and, bizarrely, licking her from the neck to the eye. Even though the victim resisted, the perpetrator did not let her go and began to walk away with her. However, a passing onlooker intervened, enabling her to escape the situation.
The attacker was apprehended on separate pending charges, as reported by the Berkeley Police Department. The victim has not been identified.
The search for the unidentified victim in Berkeley continues. The Berkeley Police Department encourages public assistance in identifying her, putting out a call for anyone with information to reach out to the BPD Special Victims Unit Detectives at 510-981-5717.
