Automated license plate readers (ALPR) led to a successful stolen vehicle arrest yesterday.
As per the Lafayette Police Department, the ALPR camera identified a stolen vehicle on Mt. Diablo Blvd. Officers quickly located the vehicle, but the driver refused to stop, causing a chase.
The pursuit continued onto Highway 24 and reached Oakland. The Oakland Police Department's helicopter kept track of the pursuit, facilitating a safe arrest. The suspect was, finally, taken into custody for felony evading and having a stolen vehicle.
