
An incident occurred on October 21, where an Austin, Texas, homeowner fatally shot a man who had broken into their home, which was an act of self-defense CBS Austin reports. The intruder, identified as Ricardo Cortez, 55, forced entry into the house located on Foundation Road near RM 620 and Anderson Mill Road as shared by the Austin American-Statesman.
The Austin Police Department (APD) received a 911 call when Cortez invaded the homeowner's bedroom, resulting in Cortez being shot. Officers arriving on the scene found Cortez with a gunshot wound, dying shortly after. APD's homicide unit is currently investigating the case as per CBS Austin.
