
A tragedy struck on the streets of Austin yesterday when a pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle, leading to a desperate but unsuccessful attempt at resuscitation by local authorities. The fatal incident occurred in the 800 block of E. St. Johns, where the Austin Police Department initiated CPR on the adult victim.
Despite their efforts, the scene quickly escalated into a hub of emergency activity as multiple units from Austin-Travis County EMS and the Austin Fire Department descended upon the scene.

As the first responders fought to save the life of the pedestrian, their efforts, carried out in full view of the public, created a tapestry of grief and urgency. They were pronounced dead at the scene, according to a post by Austin-Travis County EMS on X.
