Raul Meza Jr., a suspect in multiple murder cases, will face the Travis County district court today. Meza, 62, is accused of murdering his roommate Jesse Fraga and 65-year-old Corey Lofton of Austin, among others as disclosed in a KSAT 12 News report. Additionally, potential links between Meza and several cold cases are undergoing investigation.
It all began in 1982, when Meza was offered a plea deal for the murder of 8-year-old Kendra Page as reported in the same report. Meza was out after serving just 11 months of his 11-year sentence. Then, in May of this year, Meza supposedly confessed to Fraga's murder and admitted involvement in Lofton's murder in 2019 as revealed by ABC News.
Currently, there's exploration of possible connections between Meza and unsolved cases, with an approximate 8 to 10 cases potentially having similar patterns. The law enforcement noted that Meza was ready to commit more murders prior to his capture. Bruce Mills, an investigator since 1982, said, "He's killed how many people? We don't know," as per ABC News report.
