Last Thursday, Austin witnessed a fatal crash early in the morning. The Austin Police Department (APD) reported a single vehicle accident on the North MoPac Expressway at around 1:46 a.m., resulting in the death of Taylor Kristina Courtney. This incident is Austin's 77th fatal accident this year, with a total of 80 fatalities.
Preliminary findings indicated that Courtney's SUV deviated from its path and crashed into a concrete median. Not wearing a seatbelt, Courtney was ejected from the vehicle and later died of her injuries in a nearby hospital.
