Last week, the city of Round Rock made its mark on the cultural landscape with its standout "Beaujolais Nights: Jazz and Wine Uncorked" event. Held at Prete Plaza and on Main Street in downtown Round Rock, the celebration showcased both the 2023 vintage of Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau and an impressive lineup of jazz musicians, according to the Austin American-Statesman.
Notably in attendance the Mayor of Round Rock, Craig Morgan, alongside City Council members also participating in the festivities, even taking a break from a scheduled meeting to toast with the attendees a gesture, suggesting that the city officials understand the importance of community involvement and connection. As an all-adult, 21 and up affair, the event drew a diverse crowd with a shared appreciation for wine and jazz:
"We have three jazz bands for your listening and dancing pleasure throughout the night: The Copa Kings, Fifth of a Fifth, and Tons of Brass!" exclaimed the Round Rock, Texas official website.
The Time of Night band and the Copa Kings added their own flair to the event, making it a memorable experienc,. Derrell Wallace extravangantly performed with the Time of Night band; Keaton Ainsworth contributed with his performance, which was indeed vibrant as well. Barbara White, a Round Rock High student, and her father, Rick White, both performed with the Copa Kings, delivering a memorable father-daughter duet.

Of course, the enigmatic human sculpture of a cowboy caught the eye of many attendees, but it was the combination of the Dalí-esque street performer, the stilt performer Jamie Angelica, the dancing and the soothing tunes of jazz music that truly transformed the evening into a vibrant display of Round Rock’s commitment to arts and culture.
