In an event that occurred earlier today, a man was apprehended for fair evasion, leading to an unexpected multi-layered investigation. 45-year-old Raymond Edberg of Brisbane was arrested by a BART Police officer at Milpitas Station today.
The initial minor breach quickly escalated as Edberg was found carrying allegedly stolen cooking appliances from a nearby Target store according to a BART Police report.
A records check uncovered that Edberg was already entangled in the legal system with an active $7,500 misdemeanor warrant for shoplifting in Union City. Consequently, Edberg was arrested and found himself taken to Santa Clara County Jail.
