
California Assemblymember Wendy Carrillo was recently arrested on suspicion of DUI on Friday. Media reports of a cell phone footage depicting Carrillo's DUI investigation has instigated further prodding into the incident. The footage contains scenes where Carrillo is offered to undertake a field sobriety test in a more private location. LAPD Chief Moore mandated a review of the body-worn video footage pertaining to the officers' conduct during the arrest. The officers' actions so far appear within protocol according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The DUI incident quickly happened in Montecito Heights post a reported traffic mishap on Monterey Road. This arrest has ignited concerns on Carrillo's qualification for the City Council in the 14th District of Los Angeles, a position she is currently campaigning for. The arrest could possibly impede her race against incumbent Kevin de León as per Hoodline.
