Thursday morning erupted into an emergency in Nashua, NH, when a chemical incident at a local facility sent shockwaves through East Spit Brook Road, injuring a worker. Nashua Fire Rescue Department units and a HazMat team swarmed Worthen Industries after a chemical explosion was reported just before the crack of dawn at 6:25 a.m., according to officials.
Firefighters managed to wrestle down the situation by 7:30 a.m.There was no sustained fire as a result of the explosion," according to a statement obtained by WMUR.
The intensity of the incident at the facility, located at 22 E. Spit Brook Road: The fire chief, in a statement to WHDH, stressed there was "no threat outside the facility" even as blue lights and sirens painted grim dawn vignettes.
Investigations are currently underway by both the Nashua Fire Marshal’s Office and officials with OSHA .
