The Springfield Police Department is in a frenzied search for Geyliam Cabey, a 12-year-old girl who suddenly vanished into the crisp night air yesterday. Cabey disappeared around 6:45 p.m. and hasn't been seen since, stirring unrest amongst the community and police force alike, according to the Facebook post.
Standing 5 feet tall and weighing just a fragile hundred pounds, Cabey might have taken refuge in the McKnight neighborhood, or so the authorities surmised. Her slight frame and youthful age make her vulnerability obvious to the open world's oftentimes harsh elements. A call to action has been placed, urging the public to be the eyes and ears of a police force stretched thin—a call to arms in a nonviolent search for one of our youngest.
The Springfield Police are reaching out through the tendrils of technology and community, extending a plea through social platforms and local outlets. "If you see her or know her whereabouts, please call our Youth Aide Bureau," implored the post from the department. Their number echoed for any soul to grab hold of: 413-787-6360. Additionally, they've offered up the non-emergency line at 413-787-6300, lines cast out into the sea of faces from which Geyliam has disappeared.
