
The entertainment realm is experiencing the loss of Evan Ellingson, former actor and his works in 'CSI: Miami,' '24,' and 'My Sister's Keeper.' As confirmed by the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office, Ellingson was found deceased at a residence in Fontana, California, yesterday. An autopsy has yet to determine the cause of his death.
As per Deadline, Ellingson's father stated that drug addiction was a battle for the actor and he was residing in a sober-living home at the time of his death. While authorities have yet to confirm the cause of death, foul play is not suspected.
Ellingson made his start in the acting industry with guest roles, on productions like 'General Hospital' and 'Mad TV,' He eventually transitioned to a recurring role on the Fox sitcom 'Titus' as a child version of Christopher Titus. He subsequently played roles such as Kiefer Sutherland's nephew in '24,' and as David Caruso's son in 'CSI: Miami.'
Ellingson is recognized for his 2009 'My Sister's Keeper' performance, playing the son of Cameron Diaz and Jason Patric's characters, and brother to Abigail Breslin's character. The film was directed by Nick Cassavetes and included Sofia Vassilieva and Alec Baldwin as actors. It was a movie adaptation of Jodi Picoult's 2004 novel of the same name.
In a 2009 interview with The Star, available on a 'CSI' fan site, Ellingson openly expressed his drive for the entertainment industry, stating, “I’ve been acting for more than half my life,” he said at the time. “It’s my life and what I love to do. Pretty soon I will start to direct. I love this industry. I love making films, storytelling, and everything about it.”
Aside from his television and film roles, Ellingson also held a regular role as Kyle Savage in the 2004 ABC sitcom 'Complete Savages.' In 2006, he was cast by Clint Eastwood in the film 'Letters from Iwo Jima.'
