Coastal San Diego County experienced dense fog this morning, significantly reducing visibility. The fog was reported to start at 4 AM by the National Weather Service San Diego, affecting airports and areas including Imperial Beach, Miramar, and Carlsbad. This led to anticipated flight delays during the morning hours.

Luckily, gradually to lift the skies were cleared by the fog. Though some coastal beach areas might have seen the change slowly as reported by NBC San Diego. San Diego County is now going through a cool period due to the returning onshore winds along the coast, causing temperature drops and gusty winds of up to 35mph in the mountains. This cooler weather trend is forecasted to last until Wednesday, after which Santa Ana winds are predicted to start.

Santa Ana winds, indicative of the regional climate cycle, raise the risk of possible heightened fire. NBC San Diego states that peak of these winds in San Diego County is projected to be on Thursday, accompanying a rise in temperature that could last into the weekend. However, the strongest Santa Ana winds are expected to remain in the north.
