A manhunt is underway in Balch Springs as police scour the area for a man who gruesomely stabbed his wife to death two days before Americans gather to give thanks. The suspect, Luis Pardo, allegedly took the life of his wife, Hilda Gurrola, in their own home on Tuesday evening as reported by WFAA.
Authorities, having been called to the scene of the tragic incident shortly after 5 p.m., arrived to find Gurrola dead within the walls that should have stood for sanctuary and love, with Pardo already having fled the scene. The Balch Springs police, in a desperate bid to swiftly bring justice, have since taken to social media to widely circulate Pardo's photographs, hoping to not let him shockingly evade the grip of the law for too long according to the FOX 4 News.
Heartbreak took palpable form when Hilda Gurrola's sister, Maricela Gurrola, reminisced about the events leading up to the tragedy: "I just don't believe it. It's like a nightmare, you know.” Maricela had driven more than four hours to aid her sister in escaping what seemed to be an increasingly dangerous relationship. The turning point was supposed to be Hilda gathering her belongings to start anew, but this narrative was cruelly rewritten by the alleged actions of Luis Pardo per NBC DFW.
As detectives actively seek to trace and apprehend Pardo, they are urging the public to come forward with any information that could close the net around him. Detective Sergeant Traughber can be contacted directly at 469-853-2670 or through email at [email protected] as detailed by FOX 4 News.
