A currently vacant plot at the southeast intersection of Ocean Boulevard and Pine Avenue in Downtown Long Beach, California, formerly hosting the Jergins Building, is set to be transformed. Mayor Rex Richardson revealed plans for a 31-story Hard Rock Hotel at 100 E. Ocean Blvd., marking a new chapter in the area's storied past according to Longbeachize. The new hotel, whose construction is to commence in 2024, with doors opening in 2027, is sure to bring new vigor to the site.
This project will be the first significant hotel development in Downtown Long Beach in over 30 years and the first new Hard Rock Hotel opening in Southern California in almost 10 years as stated by PR Newswire.
Gregory Steinhauer, the President of Steinhauer Properties and the project's lead developer, has, since project commencement, showcased his fondness for the historic tunnel as per Longbeachize.
The project's design team will repurpose available resources, including the street-level Ocean entrance and building artifacts. Ingenuously incorporating light effects and a plexiglass frontage to section off tunnel access, the area will offer a visually arresting backdrop for performances and, in total, enhance the overall hotel experience.
Rising 402 feet high and offering 26,847 square feet of space for conferences, ballrooms, and related activities, the Hard Rock Hotel Long Beach aims to not merely provide luxury accommodation. It also represents an innovative, dynamic approach to urban development—breathing life into vacant areas and turning them into lively attractions.
As progress is steadily made on this venture and the anticipation from residents of Long Beach, Southern California, and global music enthusiasts grows, all eyes are on this grand-scale revival of a historic location and its potential to further amplify the city's rich musical heritage as per PR Newswire.
