Early today, a small town was disrupted by a vehicle pursuit involving a stolen car and local law enforcement. According to the Piedmont Police Department's Facebook post, at approximately 4:15 am, an automated license plate reader detected a stolen black Kia Sedona, prompting an immediate police response resulting in the arrest of two suspects.
The situation escalated when the perpetrator driving the stolen Kia intentionally rammed two patrol units, one of them was pushed down Somerset Road. This reckless act not only put the officers in immediate danger but also posed a severe risk to the public and property. However, no injuries were reported, and the officers managed to apprehend both suspects.
As noted by the department, charges against the suspects include possession of a stolen vehicle, assault with a deadly weapon, possession of methamphetamine, and resisting arrest.
