LAPD officers clamped down on a carjacking suspect who took them on a wild chase that finally ended in an arrest. The pursuit, which spanned several L.A. County locales, kicked off after police spotted a suspect vehicle involved in a Robbery GTA at about 6:19 a.m. Wednesday in the 8500 block of Foothill Boulevard in Sunland, according to the LAPD on X.

 

 

The suspect led police on a frenetic chase that spiraled through the Angeles National Forest and rocketed into the Antelope Valley. In its wake, chaos reigned as the white Ford work truck commandeered by the suspect was seen brazenly charging into oncoming traffic and through active construction zones, as reported by KTLA's Sky5 live coverage. At least two uninvolved drivers became inadvertent casualties of the suspect's flight from justice, their vehicles struck in the escapade.

The saga culminated when the suspect, abandoning the stolen truck, attempted to lose to disappear on foot into a Lancaster residential area. The man dodged through backyards, hopped fences, and left residents and officers alike in a tense state of uncertainty. Nevertheless, the Sheriff's Department's perseverance paid off as they managed to apprehend the suspect, cordoning off a perimeter to put the morning's flight to rest.
